According to survey data about manufacturers collected by the Federal Reserve in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, the seasonally adjusted diffusion index for general business activity (share of CEOs seeing a future increase minus share forecasting a decrease) was 36.2 in October 2025, compared to 31.5 in September.
Sample. There are 690 records overall in the monthly series shown in the plot above. The time span covered by the series goes from May 1968 to October 2025.
