Sample. There are 257 data points in the monthly time series shown in the figure above. The time period covered by the series is from June 2004 to October 2025.
History. Here's a glimpse of some descriptive statistics computed on the full sample: the diffusion index had an average value of 7.8; it reached its lowest level of -58.5 in April 2020; it reached a maximum of 47.5 in February 2006.
